Kotana Communications, Inc. opened its doors for business on April 1, 1979 as a provider of pagers and radio telephones in the MonDak region.  Most of its customers were in the oil industry which was undergoing a boom at that time.

Over the years the business has transitioned to a wireless communications company serving as a Verizon Authorized Wireless Retailer, a provider of safety and emergency vehicle lighting, and a two-way radio sales and service center.  The customer base has been diversified to include the general population living in the MonDak region.  Kotana is best known for its first class customer service.
